Caragh Celtic FC 4 1 Allenwood Celtic FC
Caragh took at three points from this midweek Division 2 fixture against Allenwood Celtic last Thursday evening in Donore Park. Both teams came into the game on a good run of form. Allenwood undefeated and Caragh only losing once. The home side got off to the best of starts, scoring after fifteen seconds when Luca Lehane and Dean Heavy played a quick one two and Heavy laid the ball off to Keelin Stout who made no mistake from twenty yards out to the top left hand corner of the Allenwood net to put them 1-0 up.
Caragh could have doubled their advantage six minutes later but the Allenwood netminder was equal to Heavey’s best effort. Allenwood were not deterred by the fine start from the home side and continued to press. The visitors levelled soon after when Darren Judge was fouled on the edge of the box lefthand side. He stepped up himself and curled it into the top right hand corner giving the Caragh keeper no chance, to make it 1-1. It was even steven until the thirty fifth minute when Caragh edged ahead again with Stout getting his and his side’s second with a screamer from eighteen yards out to make it 2-1 to the home side. Caragh extended their lead on five minutes before the break when Barry Winders put Heavey through a hesitant visiting defence and he made no mistake, this time giving the keeper no chance with a superb shot just inside the area to make it 3-1 to the home side going into the break.
The second half Caragh showed how well organised and patient a team they were by nullifying Allenwood and creating some half chances themselves. The second half was about to finish without a goal when Allenwood were hesitant again in defence, this time on the right and Caragh were there to punish once more through Dan Lawrence who got a fine goal he so deserved for his work rate leaving the final score 4-1 to Caragh Celtic. On an evening when Caragh really hit the sweet spot Gareth Byrne at right back Luca Lehane in midfield Keelin Stout left midfield and man of match Barry Winders centre mid really shone. Best for Allenwood Ryan Duffy Right Midfield, Conor Hayes Centre Back and Darren Judge left midfield.

Kilcock travelled to Rathangan for this top of the table clash, both teams unbeaten. Rathangan started the game on the front foot 5 minutes in, Pauric Kelly with a cross field pass to eugene Stenson who fed the ball to Chris Bradley to slot home from close range. This was a wake up call for the Celts and they fought their way back into the game when the impressive Joe Price burst through from midfield to score a richly deserved equaliser. Johnny Igoe ran on to a loose ball in the Kilcock defence and kept his cool to slot Rathangan 2-1 up at half time.
The second half continued at the same pace with Kilcock dominating early on only for Tommy power and man of the match James McEvoy in the Rathangan defence to matche everything thrown at them. Late on Rathangan sealed the win through Robbie Kelly who slotted a through ball home.
