Clonmullion FC 3 Naas United FC 0
In the final Senior League game of the season with the league already in the bag Clonmullion ran out easy winners in a typical end of season affair against Naas United. The home side took the lead after only five minutes when Michael Walsh hit a brilliant diagonal pass to Johnny Fennel who in turn picked out Chris Chanders who scored with a diving header. Five minutes later Nathan Robinson made it two nil from the penalty spot after Ross Cardiff had been brought down in the box following great approach play by Nicky Leonard. David Lawler went close on a number of occasions including one volleyed effort that flew just over.
The home side rang the changes at half time introducing Stephen Donovan, Corey Moore and young Oisin Flynn and continued to dominate the game with some slick passing in tricky conditions. Lee Day made sure of all three points when he spotted the keeper off his line with a superb right footed chip from an acute angle. Best for Clonmullion were Walsh and Leonard at the back, Robinson, Day and Cardiff in the middle and Lawler and Chanders up front.
